[297] Breathe In

The clouds have seen it all
in all their shapes and forms
They hide constellations from your eyes
just so you can fall asleep on your own
As you lay next to the warmth of your
burning chimney clouds
As we see up above
We forget where we are
and fade into a tunnel of time
It’s either a daze of yesterday
or the promise of tomorrow
The only truth is we forget where we are
We forget staying
We forget the lessons of pain
We forget to hold hands
We forget staying awake
only so we can think about things we will soon
forget

  1. Ah, if onlybwe could remember the lessons of the past! If only we could stay alert long enough to be as compassionate as yesterday taught us to be!
