An eye of an alien
oversees the
quest of a nearly
enlightened being
She practices the act of silencing
the orchestra of doom
in her head and observe
it on her hand as if to control it all
A billion planets in her head
but she only seeks the sun and
to able to see in its blinding white light
The cycles of life and death
karma and time
How to not get lost in its tune
or the hues of a rainbow
in search of the white
The seductive fantasy of excess only
brings her closer to the fluctuating colours
of her being that she tries to relinquish
And so she does in favour of the dazzling flash
The beginning of it all coincides with
the present and the future and she finally
sees the destruction and creation by asteroids and
the discovery of triangles and circles and her mind
and the merging of a billion faces into her
She is finally free from the cosmic cycle of finding her colour
as she ascends to become the sun, the white itself
As NaPoWrimo begins, this is my creation of its first prompt.
“Sometimes, writing poetry is a matter of getting outside of your own head, and learning to see the world in a new way. To an extent, you have to “derange” yourself – make the world strange, and see it as a stranger might. To help you do that, I’d like to challenge you to write a poem inspired by this animated version of “Seductive Fantasy” by Sun Ra and his Arkestra.” If you are trying NaPoWriMo this year don’t hesitate to drop a link below!
My poetry is inspired by the beautiful animation to the music of Sun Ra, which I also discovered a few months back. If you are curious, you should read his poetry and about his life as it’s pretty fascinating what he went through, and through that what he created with his band.
So beautiful 🖤
Thank you Ace. Means a lot that you found it beautiful 🙂
