I weary
having nothing to
say at all
To wake up
understanding it all, so
I seek confusion
Peace is an
illusion that kills
all passion
all the drive
that meaningful work needs to
stand the test of time
So I
befriend loneliness
and touch its
two clipped wings
All for an audience with
the depths of my soul
Day 7 NaPoWriMo Prompt: Write a poem in the form of a shadorma, or a Fib. I picked up the shadorma and this is its explanation. The shadorma is a six-line, 26-syllable poem (or a stanza – you can write a poem that is made of multiple shadorma stanzas). The syllable count by line is 3/5/3/3/7/5. So, like the haiku, the lines are relatively short. Rather poetically, the origin of the shadorma is mysterious.
I appreciate the new poetry form, I’ll have to give it a try myself.
Good work!
Thank you. Link it here when you do, looking forward to reading it 🙂
Beautiful poem, and I especially love the ‘two clipped wings’ of loneliness 🙂
Thank you Neha. Glad you liked that line 🙂
So cool never heard of a shadorma, yours have inspired me to try sometime!
Thank you Emine. Let me know once you do!
Love your metaphor for loneliness. ❤️
Thank you Michele. Glad you loved it 🙂
You are welcome. I enjoy your writing, so thank you!
I love learning new poetry forms. Thank you for introducing me to the shadorma. It’s delightful! Yours is so thoughtful. I love the last two lines especially. <3
Thank you so much. Glad i could inspire you to try it out. Checking it out right away!
By the way, I did try it … and I posted a link to your post on my blog: http://www.janbeek.blog/embrace-shadorma … Thank you for your beautiful example of how to use the form so creatively. <3
Wow. This is sheer brilliance!
Thank you, Nameera 🙂
A beautiful poem. “I seek confusion”. LOL. That’s a funny line although I know you are not seeking to be funny. It sounds absurd but your readers appreciate that.
Yes, it is kinda funny to seek confusion when you can have a peaceful life. I see where you see the humour in it.
Beautiful poem! Loved it.
Thank you so much!
“So I
befriend loneliness
and touch its
two clipped wings
All for an audience with
the depths of my soul”
Love this, it is what I say about my Epilepsy and Manic Depression
they are not going to leave
so we may as well be friends.
I am not aware of an audience with them but of the peacefulness that the struggle is ended.
Thank you. That’s great to hear that you had that realisation. If it works for you that’s all it matters!
Most of the time, sometimes we fall out.
