[573] Hide and Seek

I seek the elixir⁣
I seek the source⁣
I find emptiness⁣
I find a glimpse ⁣
that is gone⁣

I seek the elixir of love⁣
I seek the source of patience⁣
I find a destined hurt⁣
I find a restlessness ⁣
that paces inside my heart⁣

I seek the elixir of poems⁣
I seek the source of awe⁣
I find my lack of knowledge⁣
I find my apathy⁣
growing strong⁣

I seek the elixir of God⁣
I seek the source of the universe⁣
I find another question⁣
I find a silence so complete⁣
It could be nothing or everything at all⁣

I seek the elixir ⁣
I seek the source⁣
I find emptiness⁣
I find a glimpse ⁣
that is gone

NaPoWriMo Day 8 prompt – And now, here’s our optional prompt for the day! In his poem, “Poet, No Thanks,” Jean D’Amérique repeats the phrase “I wasn’t a poet” multiple times, while describing other things that he instead claims to have been. In your poem for today, use a simple phrase repeatedly, and then make statements that invert or contradict that phrase.
