I lose my way
in this world of excess
where it feels like
what I have is nothing
compared to what it offers
Everything is music without lyrics
where we fill up silences
with screams of disquiet
where we conjure up words
to give meaning to the nonsense of it all
where sometimes we learn
to live with the silence
to embrace the space between words
to accept the tedium between excitement
We’re always living somewhere in the middle
Assuming numbness as living
Trying to go at the extreme ends of eternity
