[331] Arriving Nowhere At All

Every night I collect
all the lies of the day
Moments where you cried and
I could do nothing but just
let it pass by
Every night I relive
all the memories of the day
Silences where you smiled and
I could do nothing but just
hold it close tight

  1. Having a friend to hold our silences and our tears is such a comfort! Beautiful, comforting poetry πŸ‘πŸ½β€οΈ

    1. Thank you.
      Ah just a personal interpretation. I always felt that Da Vinci has captured Mona Lisa when her smile is almost fading. So since the poetry is also about being in the middle of collecting smiles and the cries of another person, I thought Mona Lisa’s half smile represented that struggle well.

      Too abstract I know sorry πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

  2. That packs a punch! Nice one. The title reminds me of “Arriving somewhere but not here” by Porcupine tree. Give it a listen, if you haven’t already. You might like it ☺☺
