Living begins with a cry we did not choose
On being separated from what we do not know
Vital energy dims with every breath
Energy that returns, briefly, in the mother’s arms
Life happens in between, as it always does
Oblivion caresses the man who mistakes it for peace
Vanquished by the everyday, he calls it living
Epiphanies of divine love, fleeting and forgetful
Lamenting the lack of remembrance of God
Omen of the last dying seconds
Vivid images of walking, working, loving, hating, envy, and illness
Exit into the divine love that never forgot us, even when we did
NaPoWriMo Day 15 – And now for our prompt (optional, as always). K. Siva Reddy’s poem, “A Love Song Between Two Generations,” weaves together repetitions, questions, and unexpected similes with plain language. The overall effect is both intimate and emotional, producing a long-form meditation on what love is, what it means, and how it acts. Today, we’d like you to write your own poem that muses on love, but isn’t a traditional love poem in the sense of expressing love between romantic partners.

Wow! This is beautiful! LoveHate… Raul wrote of them today. He said, “…hate becomes the compost of love while we wait”… think about it!

Beautifully conceived. The acrostic gives it structure, but the real strength is the calm, spiritual depth.
