[126] I Can’t Help You

A cry for help
falls deaf when it
leaves your lips
not because I can’t hear
but because I can’t help

Your tired eyes leave me
to turn inward and explode within
I just watch this explosion
as a spectacle in return

Hopeless & morbid
I turn attention towards
what I am feeling as a reaction to you
while your reaction is to fight the battle
and I am stuck here cribbing about
the redundancy of war
