You’re never there when I am here
so I hope this finds you in the
the space between or
at dusk or dawn when
we are barely able to see
I was compelled to confirm your existence
in the kingdom of non-existence
where societal structures
that are held strong today
collapsed in the future of yesterday
In concurrence of that spectacle
the breakdown of my persona was
captured in the cold sweat I almost
drowned in if I didn’t open my eyes to you
I understood that ignoring your
anger, cowardice, ego, fantasies
won’t make you go away so I offer
an invitation to meet tomorrow
in the space between or
at dusk or dawn
and I hope you understand
I kill you because I care
Yours,
𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵
At long last you recognised me
only at the time of your need
I’ve waited in cracks
in nervous breakdowns
in the depths of dream logic
to make you aware
of all that you lacked
At long last, you offer a hollow hand
when it is you who has to look inside
To go down your downward spiral
to show that you care but
to you, I am just an ode to not caring
All I ask of you is your awareness
and not your identification with me
All I ask of you is not to treat my
presence as an invasion but
as an eidolon for me to tell
my story in my own words
You need me to see your stars
You need to hold my hand
You need me to look inside
to know that you are really awake
Always waiting,
𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤.
NaPoWriMo Day 11: Today, I’d like to challenge you to write a two-part poem, in the form of an exchange of letters. The first stanza (or part) should be in the form of a letter that you write either to yourself or to a famous fictional or historical person. The second part should be the letter you receive in response.
In classic fashion, I’ve deviated from the prompt a bit by choosing the letter exchange to be between the concept of lightness and darkness. The narrative is how they come to the realisation that they need each other for a person to be able to improve in all aspects of life. Let me know how you liked the concept and the execution while I read yours.
P.S. Have finally reached 4000 followers so thank you to each and every one of you who read me. It fills me with utter joy to know that my words mean something.
Such a beautiful and moody interaction. Loved the metaphors!! 💜

Your words mean something, Rahul. Your words are meaningful and precise. Such beauty! I cannot begin to imagine how you amassed so many followers or how you even get the eyes of so many people to see your work.
It’s one thing to write the best poetry ever— like you already do, but how … (people… eyes… WordPress)
Glad I read. Simply lovely. Loved your style. Keep going. xoxo Selma.
Thank you. It’s been just consistency over 4 years and engaging with the community here. Rest is just pure luck.
