An ideal image of a person
is made up of dreams
and the chasing of it
Dreams of fulfilling
needs and wants
and a hope that you
remember the dream
𝘕𝘦𝘦𝘥
All that is dreamless
is not ample for my soul
It is simply fatal
What is my need but
a collection of dreams
real until I wake up and
superficial till I’m sleeping
𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘵
All I want is to wake up
to my own frequency
that comes and goes
with a time that flows
all for an audience
with an ‘I’ that is not me
but you, me and everyone
𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦
If I carefully consider
my form is shapeless
It holds thoughts so abstract
that it doesn’t make sense
to gain fame or acceptance
All I hope for is a little understanding
and a little bit of patience
𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯
But I
lose memories
change faces
gain confidence
face changes
fly down
crawl up
find myself
feeling different
feeling familiar
familiar faces
lost dreams
I am imageless
Write a poem based on the title of one of the chpaters from Susan G. Wooldridge’s Poemcrazy: Freeing Your Life with Words. The book’s table of contents can be viewed using Amazon’s “Look inside” feature.
I chose the 22nd Chapter titled ‘What is my image?’ and gave it an abstract twist in the hopes you would like to read something different!
