I’m hollow as a hologram
When my thoughts become words
they die a thousand deaths
All my resolve crumbles
when I break my empty promises
The night comes as a season
to change the course of my river
The wind speaks in whispers
and offers another chance at redemption
All my epiphanies die when I sleep
They are lived in my dreams
Waking drains them of their magic
and I’m left with only tiresome words
I’m done, I give up, I had enough
and the hazy day passes in familiarity
The rat race, the mass mind, as Sisyphus
All to give the impression of
knowing the problem and
knowing the solution and
to intellectualise comfort in it
Only to repeat repeating
I’m not done, I won’t give up, I have hope
I will turn inwards and focus on my joy
The sunrise, the individual, as a rising phoenix

Nice!! I’ve often wondered about persevering about a few things and blogging is one of them. I don’t know why I write but can’t seem to get away from it. Loved the last few lines of your writing, makes a very positive impact
That’s a great thing to be persevering about. Thank you for your kind words 🙂
You’ve wonderfully encapsulated the rhythmic rise and fall of an individual with persistence as the uniform beat. That’s what perseverance is all about. Great writing!
