[525] Vivid Night, Vivid Light

As I gazed upon my life
I see a divide so clear
My yearning soul and the worldly stride
My ambition rears its teeth
as authenticity dies a silent death

My heart craves revelling in the inner realm
but the external world the sound of a drill in my mind
I am reminded of my privileged life
And the inner light that shines bright hides
in pursuit of the stimuli-filled fire

When all around me doze in dreams
I am awake, I come to life
All day I move away from your warm embrace
your ever-conscious shining white light
We finally meet in our cosmic dream

In the vividness of the dark night sky
Questions and answers come to light
A balancing act, my split personality,
Finding refuge in dreams
And to carry its slivers in the transient reality

  1. Ah Rahul, we are very much on a similar wavelength with this one 😊. This reminds me of my words and meanings I was hoping to express. You have such a way of touching the heart and creating such visceral feelings in your words. That last stanza is my favorite but I was captured by it all. Such a treat to read you this morning, excited to see where our connection goes next 😊🤗🤍
