The infinite world of the private
entertains my waking moments
It all begins with the images of a dream
but I let it fade with the burden of reality
I travel to a destination where I have never arrived
The desire always wanting something new
Once I arrived in a world
where I’ve only been in imagery
I look around to be amidst
the sameness of all yesterdays
Yet it feels like something new
It’s like the one who rules the mind
has been replaced with a new emperor who
sees things from atop with a freshness of a view
All of my understanding is a misunderstanding
for everyone who tries to find meaning
through the eyes of their own
Through the knife of logic, it all seems uncanny
But from the ocean of feelings, every ripple is in the right place
Disjointed new couplets reinvent the ways of thought
Uncharted territory comes with a sensory overload
Once you’ve reached here it all seems easier
The freedom of the spectacular inner child
Fighting against the wiping of innocence
from the practical system of group thought
The war with weapons mirrors the disquiet within
but finally the peace within, unblemished by the chaos outside
