In one sweeping gaze
You can tear it all apart
Slippages of my past
cut through my stoic civil war
It beats another life to unearth my anxieties
Yet it remains invisible, omnipresent
My blindspots become the battlefield of
the paradoxical dance of my intrusive fears
It doesn’t make sense
to live a lie of purity
I suffer rhythmically and
make a familiar wreckage
How much more strength
can I find in me
to fight within me
The wish to rewire the mind
and begin it all again
To recapture what I already have
No longer human but a fearless revolutionary
I begin to remember all that’s left of me
Maybe it will help
Maybe I am gonna be something else
Everything I reminisce, recollect, reflect
sediments at the base of my neck
where the pain sells my will to
keep the head held high
The above and beyond
fades from my eyes
It all fades
The canvas is erased

No, I won’t erase the canvas
I will remember all that’s left of me
And I will enhance and celebrate it day by day
You can, too!
