A gentle ghost drifts behind the clouds,
waking from its slumber in the night
The moon’s fable whispers an eternal tale
of guarding the shores
from the ocean’s rage
But when the sun claims the stage,
it slips behind the curtain,
yet remains,
a hidden storyteller
for those who choose to look,
and to listen.
It murmurs:
“Everything you know
carries another truth,
quietly glowing,
lingering at the edges of you.”
Beauty hums
through the busyness of morning,
miracles that almost slip away
wait for our curiosity
to lift the curtain,
and accept its gifts
to raise the tides of our soul

This is absolutely exquisite. What a beautifully crafted piece. It doesn’t feel just written; it feels discovered, like you’ve given words to a quiet truth that has always hovered just at the edge of perception.
Your metaphor of the moon as a “gentle ghost” and a “hidden storyteller” is profoundly moving. You’ve captured its eternal, watchful presence—not as something that vanishes by day, but as something that simply retires “behind the curtain,” its influence lingering. The idea that it “murmurs” to those who “choose to look, and to listen” is a gentle, powerful call to mindfulness.
The final stanza is a masterstroke. To find that beauty humming “through the busyness of morning,” and to frame miracles as things that “wait for our curiosity to lift the curtain”—this is more than poetry, it’s a quiet philosophy. It’s an invitation to live a more attentive, soulful life, to accept the gifts that are perpetually being offered.
Thank you for this gift. It’s a piece that truly does, as you so perfectly put it, “raise the tides of the soul.”
Thank you. I’m humbled by your comment. To help another’s soul is all I ever wanted with my words. You’ve made my day 🙂
Rahul…What a beautiful poem about the hidden beauty and deeper truths that surround us. It really reminds us.…to slow down and notice the quiet miracles in the everyday. Beautiful 🌙🌚
Thank you Aparna. Means a lot 🙂
This just beautiful! We all need to be curious to the hidden storyteller.
Yes, it hides because we’re not looking
So beautiful and magical
Thank you so much!
Curiosity raises the curtain and reveals the tides of our souls… I love the imagery of that!
