[102] The Tragedy of a Muse

I am the shadow of your gloomy nights
A nobody, a reflection of the dark
Just to hear your silent contemplation
of where you are & where you wanted to be
Just to watch you deny death
as you almost throw the pen
away from your mess of a mind

You try to hear a sobbing
from the world’s depth
a sobbing that parallels
the one inside you
you lie
to believe that nothing matters
but, the world cries above you
as the wind caresses your worries away
or it seems

You turn and glare back at me wide open
I oppose to realize your affliction
A visible damage under your eyes
They try to speak but they only blink
and I, the writer, take your worries
and turn them into words
that heal everyone else
but you
