[326] Before I’m Gone

Look closely
Usually, I say nothing meaningful at all
What I say in what I write
should be of no consequence to you but
you can choose to listen to the things unsaid
Listen to where your mind takes you
when you read about my lonely night
Look around you and see the world change
in an instant when you read about the way
i feel invisible and how that is my own making
Think a bit about the things I write
and then forget about it
because our memory is shapeless and our attention

Remember to observe what you’re not thinking
Remember all that you deny
Imbibe all that you said you would do
Learn all the patterns of your neurotic needs like you learn
the meter and the rhyme
Forget about me
Forget the beauty of the poetry
Forget the passion of the art for a while
Start remembering the slippages of the youth
Begin noticing the life between the art you admire
Start again because you never know
The end is always lurking and most of the times it is

  1. A new word for me: Imbibe. Never heard of it before in all my days and now will I remember it? Maybe. When looking up how to pronounce imbibe, I came across a TED talk that included another new word: Didactic. Never heard of that either, now I think this post as being didactic. Thank you.

    1. That’s great you learn new words every day.
Haha i think being didactic is not that bad as long as we’re open to learn/understand newer perspectives

      Thanks for reading 🙂

      1. I prefer not to put conditions upon learning, I see all life is learning, from the experience of the first breath to beyond the last.

      2. Actually, better include before the first breath, for the unborn hears it’s mother’s voice, the sounds of the world muffled and learns from within the comfort of the womb.

  2. And when I’m gone, just carry on, don’t mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I’m looking down on you smiling
    And I didn’t feel a thing,
So, baby, don’t feel no pain
    Just smile back
