My body remembers β£
what my mind β£
tends to forget β£
Gulf of responsibilitiesβ£
I avoidβ£
just to feel your scorn β£
to keep me aliveβ£
Iβm afraid to call this feelingβ£
a feeling lest it turn realβ£
Iβm afraid to listen to birdsβ£
lest I get lost somewhere β£
where nobody lives
Peripheral vision β£
has become experimentsβ£
in spontaneity that β£
others choose to ignoreβ£
Everyone has their eyes fixedβ£
on the prize which is wrappedβ£
in explosives of their spiritual sideβ£
β£
I donβt like the way Iβm goingβ£
I have lost a lot of memoriesβ£
that I could have madeβ£
I have lost a lot of people β£
that could have stayedβ£
Things I know to be trueβ£
donβt seem to be true β£
when the need to explainβ£
comes in the way β£
No one ever feelsβ£
the need to explain their pathβ£
to others or even themselvesβ£
when everyone else is on β£the same
but the one I want to take β£
needs an articulation β£
when itβs pitted against β£
the usual scenic routeβ£
β£
My intuition is the answer

The verse here fits the illustration well. This poem reads like a classic sci fi pulp novel by Robert Heinlein. Naturally, I love it.

Movies, yes. Books, I haven’t explored much.

Then Iβd like to recommend the works of Kurt Vonnegut and Ursula K. Le Guin, my two favorite sci-fi authors. Both were compassionate geniuses, and Vonnegut had an especially grand sense of humor.

I’ve read Slaughterhouse and am familiar with his storytelling theories. Will check out more of his and Ursula’s work as well. Thanks for the recommendations. Highly appreciated π

Youβre welcome, and you are very gracious for accepting my unsolicited recommendations. βSlaughterhouse Fiveβ and βCatβs Cradleβ are Vonnegutβs greatest masterpieces, and Le Guin has several masterpieces of her own.
