Uttering thoughts aloud
lessens the vitality they hold
It strips them off their novelty
or does it only reveal their true nature?
A life inside the mind
is the control we seek outside
And when it all seems to make sense
we are only really fooling ourselves
A little learning is
not understanding
It doesn’t precede
ruminating over knowledge
to test out its bulletproof form
as wisdom that is simple
as truth is complex
Carry my name in that
complex wave of truth
and give it the power
to withstand the rocks
of criticism and slippage of youth
as I lose control
of my mind over and over again
Give me the power to regain balance
to find thoughts
that match the frequency
of the world that it turns a deaf ear to
So I can help it perceive its true potential
in the process of understanding mine
