[456] Why I Persevere

Iโ€™m hollow as a hologramโฃ
When my thoughts become wordsโฃ
they die a thousand deaths โฃ
All my resolve crumbles โฃ
when I break my empty promisesโฃ
The night comes as a seasonโฃ
to change the course of my riverโฃ
The wind speaks in whispers โฃ
and offers another chance at redemptionโฃ
โฃ
All my epiphanies die when I sleepโฃ
They are lived in my dreamsโฃ
Waking drains them of their magicโฃ
and Iโ€™m left with only tiresome wordsโฃ
Iโ€™m done, I give up, I had enoughโฃ
and the hazy day passes in familiarityโฃ
The rat race, the mass mind, as Sisyphusโฃ
โฃ
All to give the impression ofโฃ
knowing the problem and โฃ
knowing the solution andโฃ
to intellectualise comfort in itโฃ
Only to repeat repeating โฃ
Iโ€™m not done, I wonโ€™t give up, I have hopeโฃ
I will turn inwards and focus on my joyโฃ
The sunrise, the individual, as a rising phoenix

  2. Nice!! I’ve often wondered about persevering about a few things and blogging is one of them. I don’t know why I write but can’t seem to get away from it. Loved the last few lines of your writing, makes a very positive impact

  3. You’ve wonderfully encapsulated the rhythmic rise and fall of an individual with persistence as the uniform beat. That’s what perseverance is all about. Great writing!
