[67] Fullness of a void

She lies beside me in a wakeful slumber
Gulping down the dose of not speaking secrets she hides
To watch her eyes, I am reminded of the colours of the space
The lesson they provide: to not go beyond what you’ve been given
The reason why she tells me not to look in her eyes.
For the eyes are needlessly searching for another pair of darkness, not mine
Because my pair lights up when it holds her inside,
and all she wants is the fullness of a void.
